Henry “Que” Gaskins (pronounced like the letter “Q”), is a marketing visionary best known for helping Reebok transform itself from an athletic shoe company to a lifestyle brand by leading the RBK division and forging pioneering relationships with the likes of Allen Iverson, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Pharrell, Daddy Yankee, Stevie Williams, NBA, NFL, and other cultural icons.
Que has held senior executive marketing positions at Nike, American Eagle Outfitters, Reebok, Dayton-Hudson, and most recently as the Chief Marketing Officer of a digital start-up, Personal. In his first taste of entrepreneurship, Que co-founded the ad*itive, an advertising and lifestyle marketing agency. Clients of the ad*itive included some of the biggest brands in the world: Yum! Brands, truth, Colgate, Ultra Sheen, Gentle Treatment, Timberland, Sprite, Amtrak, Choice Hotels, Bermuda Tourism, McDonalds, Reebok, and Volkswagen.
Que began his career in fashion as a part of Sak’s 5th Avenue’s prestigious Buying & Management training program. In addition, he serves on the advisory boards for several unique and innovative companies.
Que’s success has given him well-deserved recognition and international acclaim. He has been featured in USA Today, the Washington Post, Philadelphia Magazine, Dime Magazine, Sports Illustrated, GQ, and Details. Que was selected by the CNN network to be a part of their “CNN Essentials” advertising campaign that profiled Que as a leading global marketing innovator. In addition, he has been featured as an expert on “cool” in Advertising Age. Que has published articles on the subjects of cool and trend development in both Sportswear International and Advertiser.
Que received an award for the “Most Outstanding Overall Performance in Business Administration.”
He graduated Summa Cum Laude with the highest grade point average in his class from the acclaimed Florida A&M School of Business and Industry. In his quest to develop a more in depth marketing focus, Que successfully completed his Master’s Degree in Marketing at The J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Que is a proud family man, married 22 years to his entrepreneurial wife, Cynthia with whom he shares three smart, talented and ambitious children. Their oldest son H.J. is 21; a dean’s list student, photographer, writer and style maven. Their daughter Roobi is 16; a straight “A” student and a competitive ice figure skater representing the island of Puerto Rico in global competitions, and hopefully one day the Olympics. Their youngest son Quben is 10; a rising soccer phenom, a gifted violinist and already a black belt in karate.
